An interesting fact is that the original Lite label belonged to Meister Brau/Peter Hand brewery in Chicago. Meister Brau/Peter Hand had financial woes and In 1972 they sold the "Lite" label to the Philip Morris Company, who then owned Miller Beer.

I remember in the early seventies buying Meister Brau Lite, as I recall, in 1/2 gallon bottles at a very reasonable price. It tasted good and had a draught like quality to it (not as carbonnated as the canned beer available)that was very smooth.
