We have the following chains in my area: Kroger, Giant Eagle, Foodland, Bi-Lo, Aldi’s,Shop -n-Save, Super KMart, SAMS. There are more than one of Kroger, Giant Eagle, Foodland and Shop -n-Save and each of those stores varies greatly from one another in their offerings. For staple items such as granulated sugar, vegetable oils etc, I frequent Aldi’s warehouse type store. For quick convienience and deli foods my preferences are Giant Eagle and Kroger, although I tend to frequent authentic mom and pop delicatessans more. Meats and produce vary from week to week. All my international and more exotic items are purchased at a great intrnational food grocery at a quarter of the price I would pay for substandard stuff in the large chains.
