The calling hours, funeral, cemetery service, and wake were all this past Tuesday. Everything went really well- the flag folding ceremony by the military, and their presenting it to me was such a proud moment for me, and caused me to break down at the same time! The wake was very small, but was with family and dad’s closest friends. It was a welcome relief to do nothing but sit, relax, and eat some very good, homemade food that I didn’t have to cook! While it was a sad day, it was also a good day, in that it honored dad and his memory so well!
Thanks again, everyone, for your thoughts, prayers, and condolences! I really do appreciate each and everyone of them! Also- thanks again, Tara, for posting the original message, and for all of your helpful and encouraging e-mails!
