Evansville Barbeque Triple Axis

Hopefully your daughter is still attending U of E. Here are the big three local barbeques in case you haven’t found them yet.

Wolf’s BBQ. A sit down place with absolutely phenomenal German potato salad (served hot or cold). Also has carry out.

Marx Barbeque is also a west-side favorite, though much harder to get to than the interstate. It’s primarily carry-out. (This may be the Mack’s referred to above?) It’s on the west side off Broadway Ave. Call first, they may have limited hours.

In my opinion Shyler’s is the best locally. Southwestern Indiana’s barbeque tends to be sweet & spicy rather than smoky. The tea is southern sweet, the lemonade is fresh, and the pie is fluffy meringue. I love the BBQ potato!

Side dishes at Shyler’s are great- wide varieties of potato salad, baked apples, & seasoned veggies (often flavored with meat- to my vegetarian spouse’s consternation- and my joy).
