Anybody ever smoke their own bacon? I got this hair-brained idea last year…..let’s buy some fresh pork side and smoke our own! In December. In Alaska. Right. So we set the Little Chief Smoker up in the fireplace. Worked very nicely. Smelled great. Kept feeding the pan more applewood chips. Yummy.
So I say to SO, "Hon, I think it’s done, can you pull the smoker out of the fireplace for me?"
"Sure!" says he. It was a tsunami of pork fat, over the fireplace, the living room floor, it was everywhere. Um, next time I’ll try it in the summer…….outside!
