Boy, what memories! Used to be two of these places here on Long Island, "Hamburger Express" on Seventh Street in Garden City, and another one, whose name escapes me, in Glen Oaks, on Union Turnpike. I can remember my Dad coming home one night and telling my sister and I that he had a surprise for us, we were going to dinner at a special place. We climbed into his ’60 Valiant wagon, and sure enough, we ended up at the train place in Glen Oaks. I don’t remember an awful lot about that night other than the burger was charcoally and crispy on the outside, and my sister and I giggled all night whenever the train went aroung. And, of course, my Dad’s smile as he enjoyed the "special" night!
