I really haven’t noticed any price increases..I’m sure there have been some but I shop on-sale products, coupons for stuff I usually buy, and then fill in with everything else I want. I’ve always shopped that way and I think the ever flowing range of sale products keeps the bill down. This also keeps our menu different from week to week which is a good thing.
Just as an example. Roma tomatoes are usually around $3.00 a lb here but this week they were .99 so I grabbed a few pounds to use in the kitchen this week.
Sams still has whole chickens for .79 lb. Sunday I baked a chicken and monday I used the remaining chicken breast to make chicken and dumplings. Again, nothing special but I’m feeding 4 people food they like for very little money.
The flip side of my naturally frugal cooking style is we eat out often and don’t think twice about dropping a $100 or $200 on a good meal.
The yin and yang of our meal plan but it works for us.
Now the cable bill ($300) and the cell bill ($300) are what really irritate me but that’s for another conversation.
