The price of fuel has hit us more than the price of food, but we have been stretching more–opting to eat at home, splitting restaurant meals and taking home (and eating! the key point) leftovers later, etc. I try to brown-bag my lunch at least most of the week. My husband doesn’t like beans, so we’ll have to find other ways to eat well and cheaply. Can’t wait till it’s warmer, and the farmers’ markets really get going. They’re always good sources of cheap, healthy food. Local, too!
