I mean, some of this is market driven and probably unavoidable. Some of this is aggravated by, for instance, the FlexFuel/ethanol nonsense. If you’re diverting corn to wasteful fuel production, the price of feed corn is going to go up because farmers will switch to the more valuable crop. Some of this, in the case of the op-ed, is just short sighted stupidity and greed.
