[:(]I know what you mean about prices going up.Gas here in my town is $3.30 for super unleaded.Went to the store the other day,to the Walmart at Loop 1604 and Nagodoches in San Antonio after getting off from TJMAXx.The Whiska’s seafood in a pouch box I bought for $3.69 was now $4.16,cheese and milk keep going up.
I just buy meat more for the weekends or nights I don’t work. But a nice small steak is 5dollars or more, seafood isn’t cheap either.
I buy the bags of frozen fish at Walmart like the tilapia. It’s 3.22
a bag,and there are 4 or more pieces so that isn’t a bad bargain.
A bag would give a couple two meals, and for me a single person, it gives me several.I try to make up my own lunches and take them to work at both jobs.
Sometimes I buy something off the dollar menu at Wendy’s or jack In the Box.Or for breakfast buy a couple of tacos at BG’s or El Toro or Bill Miller once in awhile.
I try to avoid eating out, though since today is payday, I may eat out,not sure yet. In Bruges isn’t playing yet at the theatre in Live Oak, so I may just rent some movies instead.
Chicken I buy on sale. Got some chicken breasts at H.E.B. (Texans know this grocery chain) for 99cents a pound, which is the only way I buy chicken is when it’s on sale.Haven’t looked over at Handy Andy
lately at the meat or produce.
You can buy apples and things there for like 5 oranges for a dollar, etc. Though they are higher on some other things.
I would walk to work, except that with the part time job, I have to drive to TJMAXX over in Selma.
I usually buy H.E.B. bread for 65cents a loaf, and will buy at Walmart some of their fancier breads when they mark it down to get rid of it.
My mom used to make homemade bread, haven’t tried it myself lately,no time.
Want a veggie garden, but will have to rent a tiller or pay someone to do it for me.
Sorry if I ramble on,it’s 8:15 here at work ,need some coffee i guess for a wakeup.
But yes,I think it hits everyone because everything, not just food is going up and up.
I just have basic cable, cheap cell phone which I only keep for emergencies. My house gas bill was $206.00 cause we did have some cold days here, but the gas company tacks on an energy recovery fee,so that is what made it go up.
Lord I am so tired of this, the little guy and gal can’t get a break, and the Lord help people with kids, especially little ones.
