I was born in Sioux City and have eaten at Green Gables often. I moved when I was 8 but we went back many times to visit grandparents and eat at Green Gables.

When one of my grandfathers retired from teaching high school I guess my grandmother decided she had done enough cooking so they ate dinner at Green Gables 6 nights a week.

After she passed away my grandfather continued this on his own for 7 more years. When he died at the young age of 95 I got a chuckle when I went to his funeral and saw that Green Gables had sent flowers. [:D]
