I got a lot of information from the Purdue University Ag School website. Check the AG College in your state for lots of free info. I do know that Rutgers has done a ton of research in Peach growing patterns. But I never saw a peach tree during my 6 yrs in jersey!!
Northern Spies are my favorite New York apple. Dense, Crisp and tart… They are slow growers, but in the northern climate they do well. I have a couple of Prairie Spies, a cousin to them, we’ll see if they are as good.
Jonagolds do well in this area too and are quite flavorful. GoldRusher is another Ohio Valley variety.
