I do the same thing and it lasts forever. Another really easy way to do applebutter in the crockpot (talk about cheating) is to buy a huge can of applesauce, add some more sugar and the spices and just let it cook on low until desired color and thickness. A great way to make applebutter when apples are too expensive or out of season.
