I totally agree with you. You dont have to spend a bundle to enjoy roasting really good coffee. My first wonderful batches of coffee were roasted in a $3 thrift shop hot air corn popper. I still use it on say, a Kenyan where I want the light nuances of the variety to shine.
Some people think it is silly to go to so much trouble to get a truly GREAT cup of coffee, that is until they DRINK a truly GREAT cup of coffee. For me, it’s a fun hobby and my wife would kill me now If I stopped producing coffee for her.
Just look at the homeroasting sections, lots of reading to do, but it’s pretty interesting.
