I don’t remember wimpout, but then there’s a number of things I don’t remember.
At Hampshire we were supposed to be non-competitive. You know, that whole no-grades, no class requirements, individual curriculum thing. Even clothing was optional (although highly advisable for most of the year). For the most part we only played games that were not only not competitive, they weren’t even fun. [;)] For a short time we had a bowling league that called itself "Deviant Behavior." Other than pinball, darts, that newfangled pac man thing and other bar activities I only remember playing quarters, then climbing the fence around the pool at a nearby apartment complex for a late-night swim.
My "mod" (on-campus apartment) at Hampshire did win the distinction of liberating a record amount of apples from Atkins’ orchards. My roommates only got shot at once. We lived on applesauce, apple pie, apple cake, apple butter, you name it for two months, and gave an apple crate to our neighbors who turned it into a sofa.
