A wacom tablet is a graphics input device. It’s done by way of electromagnetic induction. The tablet has sending and receiving coils that send out a signal that is captured by the stylus, enabling the stylus to act like a drawing or writing tool. It detects tilt and pressure of the stylus. And depending on which version (how much you spend lol) it can detect over 1, 024 degrees of pressure. Pressure of course determines opacity, width, brush size etc.

You hook it up to your computer via usb and draw with the stylus on the tablet and it shows up in your paint program. Almost as good as the real thing 🙂

Helps with hand fatigue and also makes you a better artist if you can’t do it with a mouse. Drawing with a mouse is very difficult for most, me included!

You can view them here.

I have one of the smaller ones and prefer it over the bigger sized one. I don’t make sweeping movements when I draw so the smaller screen is just fine for me.
