Some people don’t take to retirement well. I’ve always had sideline activities and my most creative period in life was when I had my own small architectural design firm designing passive solar homes back in the early 80s and designing, cutting the frame and building my own timber frame home, and subsequently pioneering that renaissance in Minnesota. Then I fell into Mac computers from day one and was doing some early 3D design development, desktop publishing, CAD, magazine writing, lecturing and running the Mac graphics forum at America Online. Then I went back to being an employee. All the fun and creativity stifled again. I didn’t have much mental energy left working 12 hour days for the company under their to the line defined rules, goals and objectives. Retirement is a release to me. Ideas are starting to flow again.
