My problem is, I have perhaps a thousand LPs only in vinyl; ie, not duplicated on CD or mp3 or aac. If I spent 3 hours a day 5 days a week, it would take 2 years to transfer them to digital, figuring 1.5 hours per album (45 minutes of playing time + 45 minutes each of setting song breaks & titling/tagging). For that kind of time, I’ll buy or download them, thanks… except of course there’s a reason those thousand albums haven’t already been repurchased. When will I ever listen to The Motels again, or Pearl Harbor & the Explosions? Or The Boston Pops Christmas Album? Sure, I loved AOXOMOXOA in 1972… but once every 20 years is plenty, now. The one time playing it for transcription is plenty.
