It’s time we got over the aversion to fat. As long as it isn’t mostly saturated and, preferably, none of it is "trans fat", enjoy! Without fat, you mostly just get more concentrated carbohydrate (I really hate the term "carbs") so you don’t necessarily even save that many calories (you probably save a bit since fat of any kind is 9 calories per gram and carbohydrate or protein are only 4 calories per gram).
I buy "light" (NOT "fat-free") versions of products that have them if I don’t think I’m giving up much on taste. Otherwise I buy the original "high fat" version and enjoy life. What we really need to do is minimize the trans fat (and, to a lesser extent, the saturated fat) in our life, not the total fat.
I’m not much of a consumer of commercial cookies and crackers, but if I were I wouldn’t deny myself these just becuase of their fat content.
