It wasnt a telemarketer tho, because with them I just put the handset on the side and let them talk away. It was a recorded message that tells you youve won a prize and you have to press 0 or 9 to find out how to get the prize or stop them from calling. Its an out and out scam because pressing either of those puts you through to a premium line that racks up the cash. I knew what it was when it came through and tried to hang up, but it just wouldn’t disconnect until the original message was through. Which I found creepy.
