My wife and I (two chefs from Sonoma County, CA)did not win the lottery and are not joining our comrades at the 10th annual SFA Symposium in Oxford Mississippi in late Oct. However we are heading to the south anyway to explore the cuisine between New Orleans, LA and Birmingham, AL. We have 8 days, and have those two cities covered. Where should we go in between? We have been known to drive 150 miles out of the way for real good gumbo, and pull an all-nighter for biscuits….
