Four old friends will be getting together to talk old times next month. Two of us live in NE Pennsylvania (the Poconos – hence, my posting name) and two others live in the East Brunswick, NJ area.
We were looking for someplace that is more-or-less midway between the two areas, and on Google Maps it looks like the area just South of Lake Hopatcong would be around halfway.
Of course, since the area is not near anyone’s home town (well, at least not in our small group) we don’t know what’s out there. So, here’s the deal:
Four male geezers, 60 plus, looking for a decent place for lunch and conversation where the management wouldn’t be angry if we lingered over coffee for maybe an hour (but no longer) after lunch. Doesn’t have to have a liquor license, and shouldn’t be too noisy, so that those of us who have old eardrums can hear each other’s conversations.
FYI, I did a search of this site, and the only place I found that everyone seemed to like was Cliff’s Dairy Maid in Ledgewood. But, it is a drive-in with no inside seating so that’s not in the running (but maybe for a quick stop after lunch for some ice cream) [8D]
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated, including suggestions for a different area that wouldn’t be unfair to either group of travelers.
