I recently started buying Kowalski n/c dogs 8 to 1, pre-packaged and they are great dogs. Yesterday I was in another town and stopped by a local butcher. He had N/C dogs in his case and were not packaged. I inquired and was told they were also Kowalski as well. These dogs seemed a little bit darker on the skin though. I purchased a pound and took them home. Last night I opened them up and the smoky smell was  unbelievable. I cooked them up and they were not just great, they were magnificent. They seemed to have a better flavor and color. The packaged Kowalskis have more of a pinkish color. I am curious if maybe Kowalski uses different formulations? Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.
