Just wanted to post an update on my part time job (full time love!) – I have done 9 events since June. These events ranged from birthday and graduation parties to parades and a 4th of July event.
 
I have learned alot and screwed up alot. It is all part of. But each time gets better and more fun. Making some money and as I improve, I am sure this will be a nice supplemental income for me.
 
One of the biggest things I learned is that you need help when doing a large event. It is worth paying a kid for the day as it allows you to get more people through the line and the end of the line doesnt stray away because they had to wait. And in down times, make him clean the place up while you sun yourself!!
 
My little cart has performed just fine. She is old (father in law bought it a few years ago) but she works great. I have added a grill and some top storage to make it look better and be more efficient  in serving.
 
I do a basic menu of Nathans natural skin dogs and Zweigel Sausage (a local mild sausage that people have asked for) I grill the sausage only. Chili, Kraut, sauteed peppers and onions and the usual condiments along with Franks Hot Sauce (also because of so many requests).  Chips and Drinks are offered in a package deal. Name brand soda but only 4 (Coke, Diet Coke, Sierra Mist and Water). I learned that the hard way – Anyone want to buy a pile of Orange soda? LOL
 
I continue to lurk on here and have learned alot from you folks.
 
It is a great job that allows you to joke and laugh with people and make their day more fun as well as yours. And who doesnt smile when getting a hot dog?
