This list includes everything from Roadfood to the fanciest cuisine available. If you are interested only in Roadfood, just look at the places rated one or 2 dollar signs ($). You will see there are some places already well-known to Roadfooders like Swan Oyster Depot and, perhaps, Yank Sing. But there may well be some places never mentioned here. One reason for that is that there is a fairly high tunrover in Bay Area restaurants. They come and go. I learned long ago to take full advantage of the great little places I’ve found because they may not be there next year (I can still taste the fantastic Chinese I used to be able to get 5 blocks from home but no more). But that means there are some pretty new places on the list that none of us may yet have had time to try. If you are visting the Bay Area, go for it!
