If you are driving from Spokane WA to Seattle, I would recommendthe interesting US2 (Spokane/Wenatchee/Stevens Pass) over the much faster, much more efficient and MUCH more boring I90.
My sister and I were making that run a couple of days ago and we stopped in Cashmere WA (a few miles west of Wenatchee) at the Country Boy BBQ. I would recommend this stop.
Turn off US2 at the bridge where there is a statue of a box of Golden Delicious apples. Really. Cross the river and go a couple of blocks to Peasant Avenue.
Judging by the steady parade of local folk, you could ask about anybody.
I had a pulled pork sandwich. My sister had a brisket sandwich. Both excellent. The home-grown BBQ sauce was very good.
…take my way, take the highway that’s the best." Well, maybe not the best but I have been taking US2 for a whole bunch of years and enjoy it.
