The last couple weeks have been intersting and filled with different kinds of adventures. Son Sam is playing junior baseball so Trudy and I get to shuttle himself back and forth to practice and games, both of which are quite unpredictable in the wet Oregon spring weather. Trudy is scheduled for another eye surgery on April 11 to ease some of the pressure on her eyes so we are once again in prep mode for this.
Ray, my client, once again had to do a spenddown, so we had another adventure. We went to North Bonneville Hot Springs, a resort/spa in North Bonneville, Washington about 40 miles from Portland on the north side of the Columbia. A spring fed pool, a glorious location at the foot of the Cascade mountains and excellent food. The salmon hash was a standout as were Marionberry crumbles. We had to pass on a wine and cheese party as we obviously cannot drink while we are working with MRDD clients.
We also took a roadfood trip to the Oregon coast. Lunched at Ecola seafood in Cnnon Beach and ate dinner at Norma’s Ocean Diner in Seaside. Ray was ecstatic over a shrimp melt at Ecola and the chowder at Norma’s. he also liked the marionberry desert at Norma’s. The fresh crab and shrimp boat at Ecola was a winner and I really liked the petrale sole I had for dinner at Norma’s. Hopoefully some pictures will follow.
