I’m hitting the road in about 5 weeks and will be passing through eastern Illinois and southwestern Indiana, so I’m starting to think about possible routes.  Are there any worthwhile stops along these stretches?  Or would I be on my own?

IL-47 south from Mahomet to US-36.

IL-49 south from I-74 (or maybe US-150) through/near Ogden, Homer, and Allerton to US-36.

US-36 east through Dana, Montezuma, and Rockville to IN-59.

IN-59 south through Brazil to IN-46.

IN-46 east/southeast through Spencer to IN-43.

IN-43 south (looks like a scenic, twisty road that might be suitable for a little spirited driving) through Solsberry to IN-54.

IN-54 southeast through Springville, Avoca, and Oolitic to IN-37 in Bedford.

Mayor Al has recommended the inn at Spring Mill State Park and the inn has a dining room, so by the time I reach Bedford I might not be looking to stop anywhere for fear of ruining my dinner.
