We are planning an overnight stay in Cooperstown, NY to visit the Ommergang brewery, then continuing on to Seneca Lake, via NY rt 20, for a few days in the Finger Lakes wine country. On our way to Cooperstown we will probably be passing thru Oneonta at about lunch time so we might get some chicken at Brooks. But, if the day is an exceptionally fine one we might pack a picnic to eat at Ommergang. We would appreciate any suggestions for dinner and breakfast in Cooperstown.
And, we would appreciate any suggestions for lunch around the Auburn area.
We are pretty familiar with the Seneca Lake/ Keuka Lake area, but aside from Red Newt and Glenora we have found little to eat worth mentioning. The NY Times recently mentioned some places in an article by one of their precious reporters:
Dano’s Heuriger in Lodi, Dorie’s in Aurora, Rongovian Embassy, a bar, in Trumansburg, Stonecat Cafe in Hector, and Suzanne Fine Regional Cuisine in Lodi. Do any of you have any information on any of these places – we never heard of them before.
Cheers, John
