Yes, food paint!! I like to paint in my spare time (watercolor/acrylic) and I just got a book on "Colour" form England. One section was on how paints are made, and since some are originally mineral or plant die, the book suggested experiments with making one’s own paint.

It suggested using chile (red or green), also mustard powder. Now this would make some pretty colors. You would mix the powder with eithe gum arabic (for watercolor) or acrylic medium. They also said something about oils but I don’t use oils. I plan to try this someday soon.

Has anyone else ever painted with food?? I know there are potato block prints, wine stains, and vegetable/fruit stains. What have you tried????
