Hi Guys (I don’t think there are any female posters from NE PA):
I’m planning my annual trip thru NEPA to visit my former favorite IT person from work in NYC, now a retired recluse gentleman farmer near Binghamton NY. This time around I’m setting my sights on Carbondale PA as my extended lunch stop on the way up.
Here’s what I’m planing so far. Please let me know if I’m way off base with any of these or if you have better suggestions:
Early lunch: Glider Diner in Scranton for hot porketta sandwich (and probably a couple Roast beef Sandwiches to go).
Then on to the Carbondale for the following stops:
Simpson (NE of Carbondale) – Petrosky’s Perogies
Carbondale: Cawanna’s Lunch – Chili Bugers and Chili Dogs
Jermyn: Windsor Inn – They adverstise the World’s 2nd Best wings (no mention of which is #1) – we’ll see
I’m also planning a beer/soda stop, which at this point seems to be Jessup Plaza Beverage center in Jessup. I’m not in search of craft beers (plenty of that here in NJ), mainly I’d like to stock up on Stegmaier products (whatever they’re making these days) and some Crystal soda for my “The Office” lovin’ son & daughter. Any better suggestions?
Sooo: Am I missing any “Don’t miss” stops?
Is there any notable pizza out that way that I can add to my intinerary? I’ve been to Old Forge, I’m more talking about the Carbondale area this time around.
And, this may be as soon as this Friday but more likely on a Friday in July or August, but if anybody wants to meet me at the Glider or maybe at Windsor Inn for a beer, we can work that out.
Thanks for any help.
