Looking back over my posts, I can see one major theme running through all of them…my mom. She was most definitely the biggest influence in my life when it comes to my passion for food. Not only was she a terrific cook (on a tight budget I might add), but taught me all about how to appreciate the work that went into good food. She taught me how to appreciate the seasonality of food by taking me to the farmer’s markets. AND she loves to eat, too. Just the other day we spent the whole day doing nothing but food shopping. We have taken whole trips based around food. And it just got worse when she bought me my first Roadfood book.
And not only did she teach me how to love Roadfood, but she also made sure we knew how to behave when we went to those establishments that were a bit snootier than your basic Roadfood eatery. [;)] Even with the limited funds, she took us out to a swanky place once a year, just to keep us in practice.
So it’s all her fault!! [:D]
Whom do YOU blame it on?
