I was recently in Garden City,GA which is a close suburb of Savannah and had the chance to stop at a BBQ shack that I had been eyeing for a while. Babe’s Bar-b-q Shack is on Hwy 80 and they also have a sister restaurant less than a half mile away in the State Farmers Market known as Babe’s Marketplace. The second location has seafood items on the menu as well. It’s very easy to spot Babe’s from the road.
I always respect a place that puts the heart and soul of the restaurant right out next to the parking lot.
The smoked shoulder was chopped with a blend of fine and larger chunks and just the right amount of bark. The smoked sausage was good also but paled next to the pork. Brunswick stew is very typical of the area and is loaded with shreds of pork and small amounts of whole kernel corn. Mac and Cheese was on point as well. I cant wait to stop back in and sample the brisket and chicken as well.
