Saw "Sideways" this afternoon. Magnificent!!!! Paul Giamatti is so amazing here and his Oscar omission is a crime of the first order.
Anyway, "Sideways" marks the second back-to-back Roadfood film for director Alexander Payne.
In "About Schmidt", Jack Nicholson’s retirement party takes places at the beloved Johnny’s Cafe in Omaha. (Payne is from Nebraska).
And one of the main locations in "Sideways" is The Hitching Post (not in Casmalia) but in Buellton, CA (operated by a relative of the original).
Has any other director given so much "Roadfood" exposure?
