Stromboli with pepperoni, salami, mushrooms and mozz with house made sauce. Excellent, a new keeper from this place.
Dinner salad with their dinner rolls – light, airier than most dinner rolls, buttery and with some Parm sprinkled on, I think. Salads here are classic and always more photogenic in-house. They use those little wooden (or fake wood) salad bowls. When did they come into fashion – in the 60s? Always crisp and well-chilled with tomatoes with good color (if not great flavor). It’s a pleasant little journey back in time.
Italiano sub – ham, salami, provolone, lettuce & tomato. Houston is not a great sub town but this was definitely not among the best. Way too much bread and it was going stale. I toasted it and squushed the sandwich down like a Cubano and it was better; better with mayo than the house dressing, too. Not a keeper.
