@lleechef. G&M crabmeat hits different. It goes straight to the soul. I tried making crab bisque using it, absolutely nailed it.
Back when I was planning on opening my pub. I had finalized the location, the menu, most of it. I remember when I was planning on getting some equipment & fittings, I knew for certain that I would need a bar counter. I was planning on opening a Pub, duh!. I was so rookie in this that I didn’t even know ballpark numbers of how much furniture at a restaurant or even a pub really cost.
When I ran a Google search, I remember seeing a bar counter listed on Wayfair which cost about $17,500 and it wasn’t anything special either. I frantically rang my local carpenter who said it would cost at least $ 18,000 to make one. That was more than twice I had allocated to furniture as an expense.
After some bit of panicked research, I came across a firm in India that shipped custom furniture. I couldn’t believe my ears when I heard that the man on the other side, who spoke suspiciously good English, say that he can ship a customized bar counter from furnitureroots (his company) for about $7500, including shipping it would come up to $9000. I was ecstatic. 2 months later I received an impeccably carved bar counter. As far as products go, this one literally changed my life.
Yay capitalism and globalization, I guess. I speak to the guy to this very day and try and get him as much business as possible.:).
