“The Dairy Restaurant” by Ben Katchor It’s a history of the Jewish “dairy” restaurants in New York City. A friend of mine just lent it to me and ever since I first went to B&H Dairy Restaurant (one of the few that remain), I’ve been intrigued by them.

Sounds interesting. We only have one kosher dairy place here that I know of, just a few blocks from me. Good food, and a wide variety of dishes from around the Middle East brought to Israel by immigrants.
There was a short lived kosher dairy pizza place. Sorry to see that one go but I guess it was uphill running a pizza parlor that was closed on Friday night and all day Saturday. The other place did pizzas too and my finding was that Jewish pizzas use good cheeses.
