Grocery shopping has been a problem. I like to pick my own produce, as most people do, and pick my own substitutes if what I want isn’t in.
WM Neighbohood Market near me, I ordered 11 items, 6 were not available. I hadn’t given permission to substitute so that’s all I got. I didn’t complain since I think stocking problems are at least partly out of their control.
Huge (too big for my mobility issues) HEB near me, ordered 13 items, had to order a week and a half in advance. HEB gave itself permission to make any substitutions necessary but texted me to identify what had been substituted with an option to refuse all of them or talk to the store about substitutions for the substitutions. I just refused them all since it was all Hill Country Fare (lowest price store brand) and some of their HCF is trash. I got ’em all anyway.
Oh well, it’s trying times for us all. But I may keep using pick-up after this is over because of my mobility issues.
