I received an email notification of your PM. I clicked on the link in the email and went to my profile page, open to the Messages view. There was a ‘1’ in a red circle in the Messages tab on the black bar, as I expected would happen some day, and the message was displayed below.

I clicked on your user name in the message and the email but still just got taken to my profile page. I came to the ‘Recent Topics’ page and tried several other user names, each time landing on my profile page. That still doesn’t work.

I don’t remember ever putting anything in my profile page on the old software.

Since I did not open the main forums page until after accessing your PM, there was no visible indication on that page that I had a new PM; perhaps if I had done that before clicking on the link in the email, I would have seen a notification there.

Nothing shows up in the drop down screen on the upper right. I have come to the opinion that is not part of the PM system but a notification system, as other fora have, indicating whether any of your posts or threads you follow have new posts. Presumably, then, someday, if we get ‘like’ and ‘follow’ buttons, we’ll see them show up there. I already ‘follow’ a few threads but receive no notifications there.

Maybe someone has also tried to install a plug-in to enable that function and that also has been botched.

So now I’m some sort of semi-admin????? Whoo-hoo. I have to explore this.

P.S. I use Chrome, mostly, for RF. I also use Firefox. Both are up-to-date. I have Edge but have never used it.
