I’d like to add two URGENT additions to my 3/12/2020 Update of Failed Forum Software Migration post.

18. This forum is no longer aggressively policed for spam and malware links, mostly because some old moderators do not have permissions to delete bad posts any longer. In addition, there is now a lot of “handmade” spam which looks like a legitimate post out in the wild. This is especially a problem since the posts no longer contain the date the poster joined and the number of posts made. There is a partial workaround, depending on how accurate the forum’s indexing system is. Click on the name of the poster. You will get the user’s screen. I cannot give an example, since the forum’s software filters out the user’s name if I post an URL for his/her user page. Then click on Message. By default, the next screen lists the Names and Number of new topics started ON THIS NEW SOFTWARE ONLY. Then, click on Replies Created. If you see counts of 1 and 1, chances are it’s a spammer or foistware artist.

19. After performing due diligence, I can report with a high degree of certainty that Elan Mayhew, whose Linkedin profile today shows
“General Manager, Roadfood
Fexy Media Sep 2015 – Present 4 years 7 months”
is no longer with Fexy. I guess General Manager is what used to be called a webmaster. It’s like a locomotive travelling without an engineer. This may explain why nothing outside of day-to-day operations is being performed. The last report of correspondence with Elan Mayhew by a Roadfood member is December 9, 2019, or about a week after the migration took place. Come to think of it, that’s about the length of time after the people who blew a software migration project were fired at places that I worked at. Someone had to arrange for the forum to be shifted from APG Playground vNext software to bbPress software. It could have been Elan. But is there any livestock there to manage the recovery effort? I look forward with baited breath to nastygrams of the “Details of my death have been greatly exaggerated” sort.
