So I opened here in Japan. Reception was way over estimated. We did our first event on a side street outside of the main area. A news paper guy decided to interview us. But even so on the first day from 9:00 to 8:00 p.m we sold out. The next day was pouring rain and terrible. I didn’t think we would sell much. I arrived at the same location and while unloading in the purning rain a man walked up and tried to order 2 hot dogs I was in awe. One because it was pouring rain and he had to go out of his way in it to get a hot dog, and two because he could plainly see my truck was packed full to the brim with gear not unloaded where how in the world could I give him 2 hot dogs. Anyway it turned out the newspaper wrote a 1/6th page article about us in color. So in the rain we ended up sold out by 1 p.m. which was great and terrible at the same time the event would last till 10 p.m.

It took a few days to get more stock. We got ready for a second event which we got invited to from the first. It was a very small one but I ordered more Hot Dogs than the fist just to be careful we ended up selling out both days in the pouring rain AGAIN! So I had to do another rush order which will arrive in the next few hours so I can try a lunch day!

So I am very happy!

Customers were very surprised we had a point card they loved it. We put our contact, blog and twitter on it and a QR Coded so they can just click it with there phones. We also put a our number, blog and twitter on the menus, and the vehicle. We started getting calls while driving asking where we will be. We had 2 phone orders for delivery of 20+.

The thing I hated is having to dress every dog myself during the events there was always a 20 minute wait for their dogs. I just couldn’t cook, stock, dress etc. fast enough. I will make a set up where they will dress the ketchup, mustard, onions, relish themselves. Even with a 20 minute wait we only lost 2 customers.

Question: How many dogs per day do you sling? Event and regular days

Thanks to everyone here for their help tips, and quarrels for entertainment!
