Tartar Sauce

Tartar sauce is taken for granted whenever fried fish is served. Tom puts it bluntly: "Tartar sauce is tartar sauce. It's essential with catfish. It enhances the taste." But then he adds with a wink, "Or ... can also be used to hide it."

  • Prep Time: 5 minutes minutes
  • Yield: 10 Servings
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 3 tbsp sweet pickle juice
  • 2 tbsp dill pickle relish
  • Dash of lemon juice
  • Dash of Tabasco
  • Salt and pepper
  • Combine the mayonnaise, pickle juice, relish, lemon juice and Tabasco, and salt and pepper to taste in a small mixing bowl. Serve in a small condiment bowl or ramekin to accompany your favorite fish.
