- 4 cups canned peaches in syrup
- 1 lb sugar
- Over low heat cook the peaches with syrup, stirring occasionally for 30 to 45 minutes. Do not over stir, or the fruit will break down. Add the sugar and continue to cook over medium heat until reduced by three-quarters or the mixture reaches jam thickness.
- Jar the preserves right out of the kettle, filling each jar to the top. Place a top on each jar as tight as possible.
