- 1 cup grits
- 1 tbsp butter
- ½ tsp salt
- black pepper
- Put the grits in a saucepan, cover with water, and stir. Light bran will float to the top.
- Pour off the water and bran and then place 2 cups of water, the butter, and salt in saucepan and bring mixture to a boil.
- Reduce the heat to low and cook covered for 20 minutes, stirring until rich and creamy.
- Season with black pepper to taste and enjoy!
