The dishes to look for in North Dakota are upper Midwest comfort foods such as hot dish casseroles, hot beef sandwiches and hot turkey sandwiches. Small-town cafes still reflect the ancestral roots of their citizens, offering bierocks, summer sausage, cabbage rolls, potato dumplings, and knoephla soup.
