Wedge Salad

Named because it is built upon a wedge cut from a head of iceberg lettuce, wedge salad customarily also includes bite-sized pieces of bacon and blue cheese crumbles and sometimes cherry tomatoes, chopped raw onion, and croutons. Its usual dressing is creamy blue cheese or ranch. Wedge salad’s appeal depends as much as the way its elements are arranged as on the actual flavor of its ingredients. Absolutely fresh, crunchy-crisp iceberg lettuce is essential.
