Pigs in Blanket

Generically, a pig in a blanket is any kind of sausage wrapped in dough. Its incarnations range from a pancake hugging a breakfast sausage to cocktail wieners baked in a wrap of refrigerated crescent-roll dough. In Texas’s Czech bakeries, pig in a blanket is the name of a short length of smoky sausage enclosed in sweet kolache dough. Its formal name in that part of the world is klobasnik.
