No fruit tastes as much of sunshine as a ripe peach. In Georgia (The Peach State) and neighboring South Carolina, summer peach season is an occasion to indulge in cobblers, cakes, ice cream, and cider made from them. A farm stand cafe called Peaches ‘n’ Such in Monetta, South Carolina, offers peach upside down cake as well as sweet peach tea and jars of pickled peaches and peach preserves. Frog Hollow Farm in California (a state that actually produces more peaches than Georgia or South Carolina) makes fresh-peach popsicles. Also in California, Donut Man of Glendora specializes in summertime donuts stuffed with fresh peaches.
