Mushrooms almost always are supporting players, except when a big portobello slice takes the place of a beef patty as a vegetarian hamburger. They’re in omelets and soup, on pizzas and burgers, and especially welcome in brown gravy. Battered and fried, they’re a favorite barroom munchie.

One Response to “Mushrooms”

Mushrooms, prepared in just about any way, are one of my favorite foods due to their ‘meaty’ texture. I’d like to highlight vegetable dishes on my blogs and social media posts. I’m putting together a small post about composting, and I want to include a picture and a link to the website. Naturally, mushrooms fit perfectly with the theme of composting. The idea of featuring Roadfood came to mind, as I remember when Misha Collins was the host of the show. On a side note, I had the pleasure of traveling to Bywater Bakery and comparing Gumbos in New Orleans. Additionally, I enjoyed a meal at one of the original restaurants Jane and Michael Stern from Roadfood visited,
La Nueva Casita Cafe in the historic Mesquite district of Las Cruces, New Mexico. Should be a mutual boost.
