Grape Nuts Pudding

Grape-Nuts pudding has been a familiar menu item in the Northeast (but nowhere else) for generations. Made of wheat and barley and containing neither grapes nor nuts, the little brown pebbles of breakfast cereal are an unlikely candidate for fun dessert. But when they are stirred into pudding they become streaks of amber grain, offering earthy flavor that balances the opulence of sweetened cream.
